In a small neighborhood near Rakesh’s home, a three-month-old puppy once roamed the streets, full of life and curiosity. Unfortunately, fate took a harsh turn when a speeding bike hit the little creature, injuring its back leg severely.

Without hesitation, Rakesh took the injured pup to a local clinic, where first aid was administered. However, he noticed the dog’s health deteriorating rapidly. Understanding the urgency, Rakesh decided to take him to a Veterinary college hospital, located approximately 27 kilometers away.

At the hospital, the doctors determined that the puppy’s leg required immediate surgery. A metal plate was inserted to support the healing process, and soon after, the puppy was discharged. Rakesh brought him home and provided dedicated care, ensuring he received painkillers and comfort. Initially, the pup was in shock and refused to eat, but as the painkillers took effect, he started feeling better and began to eat again.

The real challenge, however, lay in the recovery phase. To heal quickly, the dog needed to be kept still, but as expected, his playful nature made it difficult. Soon, Rakesh noticed that the pin in the metal plate was not of the ideal size, prompting another visit to the hospital. The veterinarians fixed the issue, and once again, Rakesh brought the pup back home.

Despite the hurdles, the pup’s spirit remained unbroken. One day, in a moment of mischief, he ran away from the balcony. Rakesh searched tirelessly throughout the neighborhood but couldn’t find him. Miraculously, the dog returned home, but his leg had worsened. The rod had to be removed, and intensive care was required. Rakesh took on the painstaking task of cleaning his wounds daily with antiseptics and antibiotics, ensuring that no infection took hold.

Despite all efforts, the pup’s health took another downturn. The dog developed a fever, stopped eating, and turned yellow, likely due to the stress of being away from his siblings. It seemed like he was losing his fight. Once the wound was healed, he was released to live with his siblings. Though he was the only one among them with just three legs, he defied all odds—running faster than the rest, proving that resilience and determination are stronger than any physical limitation.

Now, he lives near Rakesh’s home with his siblings, under constant observation, thriving in the company of his family. Although one of his limbs hasn't fully healed, he has gained something much more valuable—the steadfast love of those around him and the freedom to lead a joyful and fulfilling life.
